I really did think I'd been posting more than this.  Ha. 

Last week was absolutely completely utterly insane!  Spent all weekend trying to research for my senior seminar paper, started writing it, but didn't really finish the rough draft until Monday night at about 3 in the morning.  In between that was the screening for Tetsuo and Battle Royale (I am using Tetsuo for my Grad class project, my friend is using Battle Royale for his), I studied for my Japanese test on Wednesday.  On top of that was the usual slightly overwhelming 200 or so pages of homework.

Suffice it to say, I did not get my car taken care of.  It's a good thing it's still drivable.  I did, however, find the info of the guy who hit my car, so that's better than when I started last week.  The best part of the whole thing was that I took some glucosamine and drank lots of water and didn't have any pain from the shock of the crash or anything.

Turkey Day was frigging fabulous - although our celebration really started once Ryan got into town on Tuesday (ok, well, I went and had dinner with the boys and then went and studied.) But the cutie made his butter-laden turkey and scrumptious dressing.  I made the mashed potatoes and this garlic-broccollini... we collaborated on the carrots and ... oh, there were rolls!  We all ate WAY too much (especially since there were only 4 of us and we had food for thousands), but we worked a little bit of it off playing catch with a nerf football in the backyard.  That was way more fun than you'd think, because you can be silly and goofy and way more accurate with throws than you were when you were a little kid.  Don't mistake me though, I still threw the poor ball into the tree a couple of times, and over the fence at least once, but that's ok, it was all in good fun.  I don't know if anyone will count working off dinner with Guitar Hero, but we did that too - Neil went and got the second one, so we did duos and solos and Joel is way better than I am without any practice (yes, I'm envious, why do you ask?).  It was great fun.

Yesterday we trooped over to the Alamo to see the new Jack Black movie, because that's what you do the day after thanksgiving.  Or, that's what you do if you're californian, since it seems everyone in Texas is at home watching the football game.  I know I'm supposed to love football now that I live here, but I find it really boring for the most part.  I'd much rather be reading a book.  Guess my nerdy roots are really showing through there.

The only sad part is that every body has to go home... Joel went at the end of the evening Thursday, and Ryan has to leave today... it's been a ton of fun having him here, and I will miss him when he goes.  Well, I will miss him in my free moments between all the crushing work that's going to come back down on my head after ignoring it for three days.  There's no rest for the wicked!  But we're coming to the end now....just a month or so left.
